The Roof

We use G90 24 gauge galvalume steel for our roofing material. Our roofs carry a 40 year warranty.

Prepainted steel is maintenance free. It also has a shorter installation time and is not
affected by the weather. The steel roof deck with its durable weather resistant baked-on coating sits over 20 gauge gavalume steel joists. The same roofing material is used for soffits, facia and the exposed ceiling of the open front and rear porch or patio areas. This greatly reduces the water rot, bug infestation, deterioration and resulting maintenance expense when compared to the traditional timber framed home.

Metal roofs are attractive in appearance and come in a broad spectrum of colors and designs. Metal roofing is non-combustible and provides fire resistance. It has received an A or B fire rating from several code bodies. It has also received high ratings from Underwriters Laboratory. Metal roofs are low maintenance and long lasting, resisting decay, discoloration and mildew. Metal roofs have excellent performance in reflecting heat, wind resistance, water, snow, and ice shedding. They are also hail resistant.

Metal roofs increase your home's resale value.

Metal roof systems can be extremely energy efficient. Our standing seam roofs insulated with SIP's between roof panels and substructures prevent thermal loss, with a natural radiant barrier effect that also dampens noise. With the radiant barrier effect these are undoubtedly the most energy efficient of any roofing system.

The radiant barrier effect.
Radiant barriers block the transfer of heat from the sun to your attic. Heat travels through your attic primarily as radiant energy, rather than by conduction or convection. The heat conducts to the underside of the roof deck and radiates down to the top of the ceiling insulation, then into the room below. A radiant barrier (e.g., metal roof installed over SIP's) between the sun and the ceiling insulation breaks the chain. A radiant barrier reflects 97% of the radiant heat back up to where it came from.
